How are sparkling wines made?

A sparkling wine can be made in several ways. The traditional way in which the wine is helped to bubble by a 2nd fermentation in the bottle. A labor-intensive job which often makes the price a bit higher.

Champagne

Hungarian sparkling wines

Hungarians call The sparkling wine Peszgö and Törley has been making these fine bubbles since 1882. Hungaria wine also comes from the Törley vineyard. There is a claim that there are no red "bubbles" but that is not true. Some small vineyards in northern Italy use red wine and Hungaria also makes a nice red Peszgö.

This did make me thirsty so I got to choose from a French Maily, a South African Jaques Bruere, a Rupestre by Berdié from Spain An Italian Cantina Mabis prosecco or the Chilean price winner rosé from Torres. However, I will try the Törley non-alcohol sparkling wine instead.
