Azienda Vitivinicola MO Nebbiolo d’Alba from Piedmont, Italy. The passion of a family that has managed vineyards from father to son for over a century. The younger generation pays close attention to the winemaking process, using traditional cultivation and natural technologies without the use of herbicides or chemical fertilizers, right through to vinification and bottling. Traditional cultivation, no herbicides or chemical fertilizers; hand harvest; vineyards on hillsides with sandy and mineral soils. Color: ruby red with garnet notes. Nose: aromas of red fruit (cherries, strawberries), floral. Mouth: dry, with firm tannins; good structure and balance with a fairly long finish. Pairs well with hearty dishes: grilled or roasted red meat, game, hearty poultry, and full-bodied cheeses.

Nebbiolo, the king of Italian grapes. Nebbiolo needs a hot summer and ripens late in the fall. The grape produces a deep red, firm, strongly acidic and tannic wine that can be stored for a very long time. Has a typical aroma of tar and roses. The famous Barolo and Barbaresco are made from this grape. In the north of Piemonte the grape is called Spanna, in Valtellina (Lombardy) Chiavennesca and in Valle d’Aosta Picotener. Outside Italy the Nebbiolo is very rarely seen, even outside the north of Italy this grape is only very sporadically found.
