Bodegas Ontañón Ontañón Antologia Crianza from Rioja, Spain. A complex nose of blackberries, red currants, ripe cherries and licorice. On the palate recurring fruit with nice tannins followed by a long, pleasant finish which makes this wine a “noble wine” !

Graciano is one of the best grapes in Spain (planted in France under the name Morrastel) and is one of the most interesting blue grapes in Rioja. Likes cool, clay and calcareous soil and a mild and moist climate. Hates wind and warm summer sun. Graciano, a spicy, fragrant grape with an intense flavor, produces low yields and is very susceptible to disease. That is why this grape is not very popular with the average wine grower.

The Grenache grape grows in warm and dry areas, think of the South of France, Spain, South America and also California and Australia. This grape is also the most cultivated type of grape in the world for producing red . As already mentioned, the grape is called ‘Garnacha’ in Spanish. But you may also know it as ‘Cannonau’, which is what it is called in Sardinia. This grape is a real holidaymaker, and needs sun and hot rocks to fully bake and ripen. Grenache contains little tannin and is sensitive to oxidation, so it is better to drink it immediately instead of storing it. The grape has a thin skin and is therefore lighter in color compared to other red wine varieties. The more grapes per bunch, the lighter the color. The high sugar content is typical for this wine and also makes it stronger in alcohol content, but also sweet and firmer. Grenache wines can be recognized by a taste of white pepper, herbs and fruit. In terms of smell, you can smell almost the same ingredients: blackberries, pepper, cherries, berries and a slightly spicy smell.

Wordt veel in de Spaanse wijngebieden planted and is considered a very noble variety. This is partly because it is the most important grape in the quality areas Rioja and Ribera del Duero. Tempranillo produces dark wines with low acidity and alcohol content. Wood aging benefits the wines containing tempranillo and gives them extra softness. Is a good basis for red Rioja wines. Tempranillo is known in Penedés as ull de llebre and in La Mancha and in Valdepeñas known as cencibel
