Bodegas Ontañón Rippa Dorii Los Curas Verdejo Barrica from Rueda, Spain. A bright green-yellow wine based on 100% Verdejo. Subtle aromas of ripe peach, pear , grapefruit and citrus. After a fresh and tight onset, we taste a plump wine with again these typical Verdejo characteristics. On the finish, one tastes a balanced wine with a distinctive subtle bitterness. With salads, vegetable dishes and seafood.

The verdejo stem is a plant that easily adapts to infertile and stony soil and tolerates drought well. It produces bunches of small to medium sized grapes, compact and with a very short stem. The grapes are spherical, small to medium in size with medium thick skin, green-yellow in color and with large seeds. The grape is usually harvested at night in the month of September due to the high daytime temperatures, which can reach maximums of 30 degrees Celsius. This prevents the juice from darkening due to oxidation caused by heat.
