Castello d’Alba Branco Reserva

Castello d’Alba Branco Reserva from Douro Portugal. A light golden-yellow wine based on typical Portuguese grape varieties. It is a rather plump round wine with notes of citrus, tropical fruit on the one hand and mineral terroir notes on the other. The wine was aged for 5 months sur lie in American and French barriques. A wine where the fruit, acidity and subtle wood notes can be enjoyed in perfect harmony.

In the Trás-Os-Montes region, the Códega do Larinho grape germinated for the first time, just like Siria, a grape variety that is often confused with the Códega do Larinho, but are not related. The yellow Códega do Larinho grape with pale skin is a lesser known grape variety, but is surprisingly aromatic. The impressive vineyards are located on sometimes very steep slopes. It is a unique landscape with unique vineyards that produce unique wines.

Rabigato is an indigenous Portuguese white grape variety that is mainly found in the Douro. The grape has a thin skin, with the berry having a mixed color from green-yellow to reddish. Due to the high acidity, the grape is almost never used for mono varieties. It is also a recommended grape variety in the Douro for port and dry white wine. Viosinho is a Northern Portuguese grape variety that probably only occurs in the Douro and Trãs-os-Montes. Also used for white port. Furthermore, as a blending wine it provides structure and taste. Viosinho produces dry, fresh white wines. Mainly found in the Douro and Trás-os-Montes (Portugal).
