A rich mouth-filling wine with fused balance of fruit, vanilla and tannin. Long finish.

The Tinta Roriz is the most important blue quality grape in Spain. The grape originates from La Rioja. The name Tinta Roriz is the name the Portuguese gave to the Tempranillo. The Tempranillo or Tinta Roriz can be found in almost all wine regions in Spain and in large parts of Portugal. The wines from Portugal are characterized by their warm and characterful qualities. The grape produces deep red wines with little alcohol. Tinta Roriz’s smooth wines can be stored for a long time without losing color. The vines of the Tinta Roriz are very vigorous and productive. They adapt well to different climates and soils. The vines grow best in a hot and dry climate on clay, sand or lime soil.

Touriga Franca became 2001 Touriga Francesca is a grape variety for port with a robust taste. The grape is one of the 5 top grape varieties officially recommended for port by the authorities, but is not in the same league as touriga nacional or trinto roriz. The yield is quite good, but the grape needs a lot of heat to ripen properly. Touriga franca adapts well to different soil types and is also found in the Trãs-os-Montes region north of the Douro Valley.

Touriga Nacional, it is not clear where touriga nacional originated, but judging by the variety of clones in the Dão and Douro regions, the grape has been here for a long time. In the Dão is the village of Touriga, and nearby is another village called Mortágua. In Portugal, touriga nacional is sometimes called mortágua. In Australia, the grape is known as touriga, and touriga in California is probably touriga franca. Young touringa nacional has a deep and intense aroma reminiscent of cabernet sauvignon.
