The secret to the finesse and fruit of this magnificent dry wine lies in the preparation process, namely the elevage sur lie, or lees created by the dying off of yeast cells. This process has been successfully applied to Muscadet sur Lie since time immemorial. This allows the wine to retain its original aromas, which keeps it very fresh and fruity.

Sémillon, for dry but also sweet Bordeaux wines. The ripe grape is rich in sugar and very sensitive to noble rot (pourriture noble). The world’s most beautiful (sweet) wine, Sauternes, is made from this grape. The character of a young Sémillon wine depends on the region.
