Cederberg Chenin Blanc

Cederberg Chenin Blanc from South Africa. This wine is modernly made from early picked and cool fermented grapes. What is special is that the winemaker keeps the young wine in contact with the lees for 5 months! Sparkling dry white wine with citrus, white and tropical fruits in the aroma. The flavor is juicy, elegant and persistent. A nice, fresh finish with a fragrant finish.

Chenin Blanc a high quality white grape from which one can make stunningly beautiful sweet wines in the Loire, such as Bonnezeaux and Quarts de Chaume. Locally the grape, as well as the wine, is called pineau de la loire. The relatively neutral character of the grape and the high acidity that provide a fresh impression. The grape is sensitive to noble rot by the fungus Botrytis cinerea. Also important in South Africa (known as Steen) and in California.
