Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese from Compagnia Del Vino from Tuscany, Italy. An intense and powerful wine with aromas of cherries, stewed plums and black fruit that are complemented by notes of leather, tobacco and chocolate. It is a warm and full wine with ripe tannins that provide a long and delicious aftertaste. Morellino is the local name for sangiovese which, in combination with cabernet sauvignon, makes this wine. It is a very popular grape in Tuscany whose properties can vary greatly from region to region. Tuscany is an absolute top region where wine has been grown since the Middle Ages. There are large wineries active that continue age-old traditions with beautiful wines like these. A very good match with meat and tomato-based dishes such as osso bucco. Also a winner with grilled meat such as lamb and beef, with or without tomato sauce.

Cabernet Sauvignon is best known in Bordeaux where, together with merlot and cabernet franc, it produces high-class wines. It needs a lot of heat to ripen, otherwise it will become green and juicy with a taste of green pepper. Too much heat makes it soft and jam-like, with a taste of blackcurrants. Cabernet Sauvignon produces very aromatic wines with scents of blackcurrant, vanilla, spices (pepper), tobacco, plum, cherry, toasted bread and cedar. The wines usually have a long shelf life, have a lot of tannin and in principle have to mature in barriques.

Sangiovese, the most common ancient and very robust, but thinly membranous variety. Originally from Tuscany and from there spread throughout Italy. Sangiovese consisting of two qualitatively very different sub-varieties. The Sangiovese piccolo (the lesser) dominates and is the main variety in Chianti.
