Compagnia del Vino Battiferro Riserva Morellino Di Scansano DOC – “l Grisellino”Sangiovese from Tuscany, Italy. On the nose, this wine is intense with aromas of cherry, plum and black fruit followed by light tobacco, chocolate and vanilla. On the palate, it is complex but not austere, notes of ripe tannins and a long warm finish. Sangiovese: the most common ancient and very robust, but thinly membraned species. Originally from Tuscany and from there spread throughout Italy. Sangiovese consisting of two qualitatively very different sub-varieties. The Sangiovese piccolo (the lesser) dominates and is the main variety in Chianti.
