De Bortoli First Block Shiraz (SC)

Cabernet Shiraz from De Bortoli of Riverina, Australia. Fruity nose with notes of ripe red fruit, assisted by light spice and white pepper. The palate is generous with delicate fruit aromas and recurring spiciness. The finish is supple with fine tannins. This wine consists of Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine has had oak barrel aging, with 93% of it in American oak barrels and the remainder in French oak barrels. This for 4 weeks, to find a nice balance between the wood and the fruity taste of the wine. Delicious with red meat dishes.
