Domaine Reverdy Ducroix Moulin Les Lys Sancerre Blanc, from the Loire, France. Clear straw yellow color with green reflections. Expressive aromas on the nose reminiscent of blackcurrants. On the palate, this sauvignon is full and round with a pleasant feeling of crispiness. Subtle notes of gooseberry, grapefruit and minerality.
The wines from the Sauvignon grape are preferably bottled early, so that the wine retains its much-valued freshness. The wine undergoes temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks for approximately 3 weeks and matures on fine yeast.

Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay are the two best-known white grape varieties. However, the Sauvignon Blanc has a drier taste compared to the Chardonnay. The Sauvignon Blanc is planted in a climate that is not too warm. This is necessary to maintain the fresh taste. For a number of years, Sauvignon Blanc has also been planted in somewhat colder Germany. Yet you see a lot of Sauvignon Blanc from the warm New World countries, this is because they are planted in the famous ‘Cool Climate’ areas where the vineyards are at altitude and the temperature differences between day and night are large. The most beautiful Sauvignon Blancs come from the Loire region of France. This is where Pouilly-Fumé, for example, originated. This wine owes its name to the soil in which the vines grow. The bottom consists of flints and pebbles. The Loire has even more soils such as: granite, tuft, lime and slate. These different soils are probably a result of the ice age.
