Girard Winery Old Vine Zinfandel – MAGNUM

Zinfandel by Girard from Napa Valley, USA. 18 months of barrel aging of which 80% was French oak, 20% American and 30% new barrels. This old vine zinfandel is a beautifully balanced product of a unique terroir. Beautifully ripe, black currant and dark plum fruit. The natural spiciness is enhanced by the skillful use of the wooden barrels, which contribute to a nice complexity. This is a velvety, juicy zinfandel that goes with many dishes. The wine is a velvety, jammy wine with nicely integrated tannins and balanced acidity. The blend is 85%Zinfandel, 9% Petite Sirah 4% Mourvedre and 2% Syrah.
