Cuvee by Henschke from Barossa, Australië. 66% shiraz, 19% grenache 8% mourvèdre en 7% viognier. Dark in color with lots of aromas of forest fruits, apricot and anise. The palate is soft and rich, complex with a lovely full finish with lots of spice and soft tannins. The name is a reference to Henry Evans who planted the first 7 vineyards in Keyneton in 1853. He made the best wines in the southern colony. After his death in 1868, his devoutly religious wife Sarah removed all vines for personal reasons. Delicious wine with spicy and powerful stews. Also goes very well with Oriental-inspired stew.
