Hungaria Extra Dry from Etyek, Ungarn. The carefully selected Chardonnay, Riesling, Kiràlyleànika and Pinot Noir grapes for this sparkling wine and the production according to the ‘Methode Classique’, guarantee this harmoniously elegant dry sparkling wine. The difference with the Hungaria Grande Cuvée Brut is that this Hungaria Extra Dry is 100% dry. A nice bottle and a few good friends and the evening is a grandiose success.

Chardonnay, the grape of white Burgundy and Champagne, is planted all over the world. Delivers good to very good wine with a full, dry taste. Chardonnay is a grape that does not have a clear character, which depends on the terroir (soil and climate) and the method of wine making. Chardonnay lends itself very well to maturing in wooden barrels.

Riesling is a very noble grape variety that originates in Germany. The grape is still widely planted here. A misunderstanding is that Riesling produces a sweeter wine. Dry Rieslings can be fine, nuanced wines of great class. This grape has also been a classic in French Alsace since the mid-19th century. Young Rieslings are fruity, light wines that can surprise with a perfect harmony between sweet and sour. A mature Riesling has a very exuberant, spicy, oily (petrol) and honey-like smell and taste, with a clear, super elegant citrus note in the best wines.

Királyleányka or Fetească regală is a grape variety that originally comes from Transylvania, which used to be part of the great Hungarian empire. The name means “king’s daughter”. It is generally believed that this grape is a cross between the Kövérszőlő and the Leányka.

Pinot Noir: in an old text from 1659 the grape is also called Rotkläffner. Pinot noir is a noble blue grape from Burgundy from which all great Burgundy wines are made. The grape mainly grows in a cooler climate and is very dependent on soil conditions. Therefore, it is not an easy grape variety to grow. But if the conditions are ideal, very complex, elegant wines of top quality can be made. Is also important in champagne must. It gives champagne backbone, strength and fullness. The famous Pinot Noir can be found in almost every wine country. In Germany the grape is also called spätburgunder. Blauburgunder in Austria and Switzerland
