Johanniter, Muscaris, Souvignier gris from Belle Vue Castle from Haspengouw, Belgium. Beautiful bright light golden yellow color. The nose has drifting aromas of citrus that are combined with wild blossoms and undertones of white stone fruit. The taste is spicy with fine acidity and an unctuous mouthfeel. Beautiful finish with a hint of lemon zest. 33% johanniter, 27% muscaris, 40% souvignier gris (of which 10% 14 months French barrique) Johanniter: is a cross between a Riesling and Pinot Gris and originates from Germany. Johanniter has been planted a lot in the Netherlands in recent years, Muscaris: The Muscaris grape is also called the aromatic pearl in the vineyard. It is an aromatic grape with an intensive bouquet of nutmeg-like, smoky aromas. The Muscaris ripens particularly well in Northern wine regions such as the Netherlands. The grape variety was introduced in 2010 by the Weinbau Institut Freiburg in Germany. It is a hybrid cross of the Muscat à petits grains (Muskatelier) and the Solaris grape. This association of grape varieties resulted in a grape with the well-known aromatic character of the Muscat and fresh Cirtus aromas and fine acidity of the Solaris. But with excellent mold resistance. The Souvignier Gris is a young grape variety and therefore perhaps not yet well known. This is because the Souvignier Gris is mainly planted in Northern wine regions, because the grape is better able to withstand colder and wetter weather. The Souvignier Gris is a hybrid grape. This means that the grape has been bred with other grape varieties: it is a cross between the Cabernet Sauvignon and the lesser-known German grape variety the Bronner. The special thing about this crossing is that it is a cross between a blue and a white grape. This crossing creates a special colored light pink grape that produces a beautiful fresh wine with a surprising amount of complexity, especially for Northern regions. In the northern wine regions, the harvest is carried out later, in order to allow sufficient sugars and aromas to develop. The Souvignier Gris has a balanced taste. From the Carbernet Sauvignon it has strength and complexity. The Bronner gives the wine a fresh taste with refreshing acidity. The fresh and fruity notes are very similar to those of citrus fruits.
