La. Petite Ferme Baboon Rock Grenache

Juicy and supple red wine from Franschhoek, based on 95% Grenache Noir and 5% Mourvèdre grapes, matured in barrels for 10 months (second use). One finds many aromas of red cherries and pomegranates. Pleasant, fresh and light finish. Ideal for drinking lightly chilled. As the Grenache is planted higher up in the mountains, it is sometimes plundered by the Baboons, a species of monkey. In 2008, 40% of the harvest was plundered by them, which is an excellent match with red meat and the better stews.
