Marras Shiraz Cinsault Swartland

Marras Shiraz Cinsault Swartland from the Piekenierskloof, South Africa. The wine is dark red and seductive with scents of rose petals, bit of pepper, leather and especially lots of fruit including plums. The wine is full-bodied but does not feel heavy. Intense fruitiness with lovely ripe tannins. This is a red wine that can also be enjoyed cool in the summer.

Cinsault/Cinsaut is a good quality grape variety that feels very much at home in the warmer wine growing areas and is mainly planted in the western part of southern France.

Syrah, a strong blue grape of very high quality. This grape is usually not easy for wine growers, but it is the seasoning for many Côtes du Rhône Villages. Delivers incredibly powerful and complex wines under optimal conditions. Have a high tannin content, without being stiff. The Syrah grape quickly suffers from poor fruit set in cool weather during flowering (coulure) but is not very susceptible to grape diseases such as Oidium.
