Penley Estate Steyning Cabernet Sauvignon from Coonawara, Australia. The Steyning is notable for its concentrated aroma of black olives, dark fruit, leather and dark chocolate. Its palate is a complex interplay of deep dark fruit supported by pleasant tannins.
This Cabernet Sauvignon is aged for 24 months in oak and then another 6 months in stainless steel. It was grown in the Coonawarra region, which is sometimes called the Médoc of Australia. Cabernet Sauvignon is the main grape that can grow there in ideal conditions. A great enrichment for all game dishes, roasts and smoked meat dishes.

Cabernet Sauvignon is best known in Bordeaux where, together with Merlot and Cabernet Franc, it produces high-class wines. The wines usually have a long shelf life, contain a lot of tannin and should in principle ripen in barriques. By applying modern vinification techniques, young wines can now also be drinkable quickly. In general, the wines have a high phenol content, they are purple (young) or dark red (old) and have a lot of power and structure. Cabernet Sauvignon can be found all over the world.
