Pian delle Vigne Brunello di Montalcino DOCG

Sangiovese from Pian Delle Vigne in Tuscany, Italy. Ruby red wine with granite glints. The aroma is complex, full of beautiful aromas of cherries, red berries, tobacco and hints of coffee and cocoa. The palate is soft, nicely balanced with soft tannins and elegant notes of red fruit followed by a nice lingering finish. The vineyard Pian delle Vigne is located 6 km south of Montalcino, above the valley of Val d’Orcia. The property is 60 ha. size, of which 30ha were planted in the early 1990s and 30ha planted in 2002 and 2003. The vineyard is located at an altitude of 130 meters. The soil is rocky, calcareous, tuff and quite “poor”.
