Poderi Constantini Montepulciano d’Abruzzo DOC from Abruzzo, Italy. Deep ruby red colour. A combination of red and black fruits, amarena, plum, blackberry, wild blueberry, licorice and tobacco with delicate smoked, leather and vanilla notes due to the aging in wooden barrels.
Full-bodied with fresh and balanced acidity and firm, plaster-like and persistent tannins. With charcuterie, flavoursome pastas with red sauce, meat dishes, game and semi-aged cheeses.

Montepulciano, the most important high quality blue grape in Italian Abruzzo. The Montepulciano wines are rarely hard and can usually be drunk young, while the better ones improve with some maturation in oak barrels and in the bottle.
