Rutini Wines Cabernet Franc Malbec from Mendoza, Argentina. A rich wine with a variety of ripe red fruit, vanilla and chocolate. Perfect structure with soft tannins. 50% Cabernet and 50% Malbec matured for twelve months in half new French oak and half new American oak. An elegant character wine that does full justice to game and grilled red meat. Cabernet Franc is a fairly productive variety. It is in fact the original Cabernet grape. The much more famous Cabernet Sauvignon is a descendant of Cabernet Franc. It probably originates from Bordeaux where it is one of the classic components of Bordeaux wines. In the 17th century it was taken to the Loire Valley where it was subsequently planted with success. Cabernet Franc likes chalky gravel, sand and clay soils and ripens about ten days earlier than Cabernet Sauvignon. It flourishes very well in cooler soils. Malbec: is mainly grown in Bordeaux and in the southwest of France. Characteristic of the wines of this grape is the intense and earthy fruit in the aroma, combined with a soft, also earthy and spicy taste. The malbec shows a strong tendency to coulure, which results in a small harvest. Also called cot. In the wine region Cahors and Saint Emilion Pressac becomes the grape auxerrois named
