St. Andrea Orökké Cuvée Grand Superieur from Eger, Hungary. A tasty and elegant wine with sultry aromas and flavours of ripe, tropical fruit accompanied by a distinct smoky oak note. It is a soft and pleasant wine with light acidity. The Eger region is a moderately warm region that allows grapes to develop slowly without too large temperature differences. This is a very tasty wine with artichoke and pumpkin dishes. It is also an excellent accompaniment to dishes with poultry and especially feathered game. Chardonnay: the grape of white Burgundy and Champagne, and is planted all over the world. Delivers good to very good wine with a full, dry taste. Chardonnay is a grape that does not have an unambiguous character, which depends on the terroir (soil and climate) and the method of wine making. Chardonnay lends itself very well to maturing in wooden barrels. Hárslevelu means “Linde leaf”. It is an aromatic white grape variety from Hungary. The name refers to the predominant aroma of lime blossom that the grape gives to the wines. Due to this aromatic character, this grape has a supporting quality in sweet Tokaj wines in which the Furmint plays the leading role. The thin skin of this grape makes it susceptible to noble rot, a unique feature in this region for the production of sweet Aszu wines. Hárslevelu also makes mono-varietal wines with a dry and spicy character. Olaszrizling is a widely planted grape variety in Hungary, from which light yellow, slightly aromatic wines are made. The quality of the wines depends greatly on local conditions and the vintage. The most important wine regions are Balatonfüred-Csopak, Ászár-Neszmély and Badacsony. In Austria the grape is called Welschriesling, in Slovenia laški rizling, in the Czech Republic ryzlink vlašský, in Croatia Graševina [1] and in Italy riesling italico. All these indications suggest an Italian origin. The grape is not related to the Riesling. Pinot Gris: The Pinot Gris is a cultivar of the grape originating from France, which has a large number of different appearances. This grape is also known as Pinot Grigio, malvoisie, grauburgunder, ruländer and szürkebarát. Sauvignon Blanc: also called fumé blanc, is the most important white grape of Bordeaux. Fresh, fruity wines are made along the Loire. In Sauternes, the grape is blended with the sémillon. Sauvignon blanc spread to the rest of the world through migrants in the 18th century. In wine regions with a temperate climate, the grape feels at its best. The sauvignon blanc, locally called surin, is one of the oldest grape varieties that were planted in France. Sauvignon Blanc has a characteristic perfume of flowers and gooseberries, is spicy but can be both tart (around the upper reaches of the Loire) and plump and round. The wines usually have a high acidity
