Tormaresca Neprica Rose uit Puglia, Italië. This wine has a delicate, soft peach blossom pink color. On the nose, notes of yellow peach and apple harmonize well with citrus sensations of jasmine and orange blossom. In the mouth it is fresh and savory, with a soft attack supported by a pleasant acidity. A fine wine that goes well with dishes based on red meat. Cabernet Sauvignon is best known in Bordeaux where, together with Merlot and Cabernet Franc, it produces high-class wines. It needs a lot of heat to ripen, otherwise it becomes green and juicy with a taste of green pepper. Too much heat makes it soft and jammy, with a taste of blackcurrant. Cabernet Sauvignon produces very aromatic wines with scents of blackcurrant, vanilla, spices (pepper), tobacco, plum, cherry, toasted bread and cedar. The wines usually have a long shelf life, contain a lot of tannin and should in principle ripen in barriques. By applying modern vinification techniques, young wines can now also be drinkable quickly. In general, the wines have a high phenol content, they are purple (young) or dark red (old) and have a lot of power and structure. Cabernet Sauvignon can be found all over the world. Wherever someone wants to make a ‘serious’ wine, Cabernet Sauvignon is planted. Negroamaro: means ‘black bitter’ because the wine is very dark. It is a fairly old tasting grape of reasonable quality that is grown in southern Italy, especially in Puglia. The structure is firm and the taste can be somewhat barnyard with a distinctly medicinal note. The grape is appreciated in a blend with the fragrant, juicy Malvasia Nera. Some of the best red wines from Puglia such as Salice Salentino possess this combination. Negroamaro is a red grape variety native to southern Italy. It is grown almost exclusively in Puglia and particularly in Salento, the peninsula that can be seen as the “heel” of Italy. The grape can produce wines of great depth in color. Primitivo is a dark-colored grape known for producing inky, tannic wines, particularly Primitivo di Manduria and the naturally sweet Dolce Naturale. Although there has been lengthy and controversial debate over the geographical origins of the variety, there is little doubt that Primitivo’s homeland today is in southern Italy, specifically Puglia
