Torres Secrets Del Priorat from Catalonia, Spain. This is a beautiful blend of Garnacha, Cariñena, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. Raised on slate soil. The wine has a medium mouthfeel yet is delicate with an opaque hue, brimming with blackberries, blueberries and spicy peppery notes. It is compact yet velvety and finishes polished and long.

Garnatcha, The most widely planted blue grape in Spain. Excellent for blending, although the best Garnacha wines come from Priorato and are usually monovarietal there. Garnacha is an important component of traditional Rioja (usually up to 30 percent). In France, this grape is used almost exclusively as a varietal with other grape varieties. Garnacha is a true Mediterranean grape that is addicted to the heat. The grape variety always follows the sun, and regularly changes its name in the process. Carinyena, This variety gives the Rioja blend its color and body. In most traditionally made Riojas, it is used as a counterbalance to the light Garnacha. In France, the grape is increasingly losing ground because the wines have a mediocre reputation in many respects. Cariñena is mainly grown in Rioja. Also in Catalunya and of course in Aragon (DO Cariñena). In France, Carignan is mainly grown in the Côtes de Roussillon and in the Languedoc, where it plays an important role. Carignan was widely grown in France after 1960 as a replacement for Aramon. This grape is also used in Italy (Sardinia and Lazio) and in California. Cabernet Sauvignon is best known in Bordeaux, where it produces high-class wines together with Merlot and Cabernet Franc. It needs a lot of heat to ripen, otherwise it becomes green and juicy with a taste of green pepper. Too much heat makes it soft and jammy, with a taste of blackcurrants. Cabernet Sauvignon produces very aromatic wines with aromas of blackcurrant, vanilla, spices (pepper), tobacco, plum, cherry, toasted bread and cedar. The wines usually have a long shelf life, contain a lot of tannin and should in principle ripen in barriques. By applying modern vinification techniques, young wines can now also be drinkable quickly. Syrah, a strong blue grape of very high quality. This grape is usually not easy for the winegrowers, but it is the tastemaker for many Côtes du Rhône Village. Provides unimaginably powerful and complex wines under optimal conditions. Have a high tannin content, without being rough. The Syrah grape quickly suffers from poor fruit set in cool weather during flowering (coulure) but is not very susceptible to grape diseases such as Oïdium
