Torres Vina Esmeralda DO Penedes uit Penedes, Spanje. Clear, straw yellow white wine with a fragrant perfume and delicate nuances of exotic fruit and fresh apple jelly. Smooth and full taste experience that leaves a honey note. Combination of Moscatel and Gewürztraminer from the Penedès region, known for its excellent white wines. The temperate climate provides ideal conditions and gives the grapes the opportunity to build up acidity. Delicious in combination with seafood and appetizers such as pate. Also recommended are Asian fish dishes.

Moscatel: Iberian name for muscat. Moscatel is one of the many synonyms of Muscat (there are over 200) for the Spanish variety; the name refers to the rich muscat aroma. Wines called Moscatel are plain, sweet and dark, and usually made from Muscat d’Alexandria or Moscatel de Alejandría. Muscatel is one of the oldest grape varieties of the Mediterranean basin and is best known for the sweet dessert wine made from pourriture noble. Another name for this grape is Moscatel Romano. Muscat Blanc à Petits Grains is Moscatel de Grano Menudo. Moscatel de malaga appears to be a local variety in southern Spain. Moscatel is also often sold as a table grape Gewürztraminer: high quality white grape variety with a very aromatic character that gives the wine a sultry, spicy aroma and taste. When fully ripe, the grapes turn light pink. The yield varies from year to year, partly because the grape is very sensitive to cold and wet weather. The name probably comes from Northern Italy; the grape grew there around the town of Tramin (Trento-Alto Adige). Gewürztraminer owes its fame mainly to the wines that are made from it in Alsace. The grape is called traminer aromatico in Italy, traminer in Germany and mala dinka in Bulgaria.
