Zevenwacht 7even Bouquet Blanc. Muscat de Frontignon, Viognier, Gewurztraminer from Stellenbosch, South Africa. Golden with a bouquet of fruit, floral and spicy, On the palate Lichy, Lime and yellow fruit. Complex wine, good balance with a long fruity finish.

Muscat is probably the oldest wine grape in existence. It was the Greeks and Romans who brought this breed with little disease resistance to the south of France. Muscat is therefore one of the oldest heat-loving grape varieties in Europe. Muscat is sometimes called the bee grape because they love it. The grape also produces table wines and raisins. There are a large number of mutants that have been given special names. The most important are muscat à petit grain, muscat d’alexandrie and muscat ottonel. Muscat is a grape characterized by very low yields. The most striking thing about muscat is that it produces very aromatic wines with a muscat aroma. It is made into pale yellow and sweet dessert wines that are fortified with alcohol to 15-20% (Vins doux naturels).

Viognier, an extremely vulnerable white grape of very high quality that forms the basis of Château Grillet and Condrieu. This grape is also allowed up to 20% in the red Côte Rôtie. Viognier produces a delicate, softly scented white wine. More and more quality-conscious wine growers are planting Viognier and as a result their white wines usually increase enormously in quality.

Gewürztraminer is a high-quality white grape variety with a very aromatic character that gives the wine a sultry, spicy smell and taste. When fully ripe the grapes turn light pink. The yield varies from year to year, partly because the grape is very sensitive to cold and wet weather. The name probably comes from northern Italy; the grape grew there around the town of Tramin (Trento-Alto Adige). Gewürztraminer owes its fame mainly to the wines that are made from it in Alsace. The grape is called traminer aromatico in Italy, traminer in Germany and mala dinka in Bulgaria.
