Savagnin, a white aromatic grape variety from the Jura of high quality, among other things for the production of the sherry-like wine Vin jaune, a specialty of Arbois. White wines from both the Chardonnay and Savagnin are also produced in that region. The character of the wines from the Savagnin is aromatic and rich in extract, with impressions of nuts and wax clearly present.
