Gere Attila Olaszrisling

Gere Attila Olaszrisling from Villany, Hungary. A traditional wine of the region. Italian or Welsh Riesling is little or nothing related to traditional Riesling. Its beauty comes from the grape being harvested with high sugar levels. A flavorful wine with the distinctive aroma of citrus and fresh fruit. It has a balanced fresh and round finish. The elegant pear, apple and grapefruit flavors accentuate the good acidity and rich texture. Delicious with fish dishes.

Olaszrizling is a widely planted grape variety in Hungary, from which pale yellow, slightly aromatic wines are made. The quality of the wines depends greatly on local conditions and the vintage. The most important wine regions are Balatonfüred-Csopak, Ászár-Neszmély and Badacsony. In Austria the grape is called Welschriesling, in Slovenia laški rizling, in the Czech Republic ryzlink vlašský, in Croatia Graševina [1] and in Italy riesling italico. All these indications suggest an Italian origin. The grape is not related to the Riesling.
