Purista Encruzado

Encruzado from Purista from Alenquer, Portugal. Light yellow color. The nose reveals aromas of citrus fruits, especially orange peel, combined with elegant floral and herbal notes. A hint of minerality provides an extra layer of complexity. The taste is fresh and has a slight salty touch. The recurring citrus fruits and blossoms provide a playful aftertaste. fish and seafood, Mexican dishes, vegetarian cuisine, Asian cuisine or sushi.

Encruzado is the most important white grape in the Dão wine region. Winegrowers experiment with fermentation in wood and stirring the yeast sediment to bring out the character, and a little oak during aging seems to do it good. At its best, the wine is elegant, with a leafy aroma and good balance.
