Extraordinary “White Blossom” Chenin Blanc from South Africa. Pale yellow-green wine with aromas of gooseberry, green apple and light white peach. In the mouth, these fruits return to filled with some minerals, acidity with a short finish.

Chenin Blanc is a high-quality white grape from which stunningly beautiful sweet wines can be made in the Loire, such as Bonnezeaux and Quarts de Chaume. Locally, the grape, like the wine, is called pineau de la loire. The relatively neutral character of the grape and the high acidity provide a fresh impression. The grape is sensitive to noble rot caused by the fungus Botrytis cinerea. Also important in South Africa (known as Steen) and in California.
