La Cetto Zinfandel

La Cetto Zinfandel from Baja California Mexico. Deep red shiny wine, in the nose mostly raspberries and other red fruits. Nice ripe tannins, dry but round and balanced, characteristic zinfandel. Long finish.

Zinfandel is a blue grape of good quality that can give a high yield. Planted primarily in California for red wines, which can range from light and fruity to dark and tannic. The wines from this grape are somewhat similar to those from Bordeaux. Zinfandel is also very suitable for giving some extra strength and color to wines from less good grape varieties. In Apulia (southern Italy) the same grape is probably called Primitivo, this grape produces an intense, dark-colored and very powerful wine with a lot of fruit in its youth. Both dry and sweet versions are made from it. Zinfandel grape vines have also been planted in Cape Mentelle (Western Australia), Fairview Estate (South Africa), Mexico and Chile.
