Terres de Feu Grenache Merlot Syrah Vdp d’Oc from Languedoc, France. This fleshy wine is round on the palate with aromas of ripe fruits like cassis and Languedoc bay leaf. The Grenache grape grows in warm and dry areas, such as the South of France, Spain, South America and also California and Australia. This grape is also the most cultivated type of grape in the world for producing red . As already mentioned, the grape is called ‘Garnacha’ in Spanish. But you may also know it as ‘Cannonau’, which is what it is called in Sardinia. This grape is a real holidaymaker, and needs sun and hot stones to fully bake and ripen. The Grenache contains little tannin and is sensitive to oxidation, so it is better to drink it immediately instead of storing it. The grape has a thin skin and is therefore lighter in color compared to other red wine types. The more grapes per bunch, the lighter the color. The high sugar content is typical of this wine and also makes it stronger in alcohol content, but also sweet and firmer. Grenache wines can be recognized by a taste of white pepper, herbs and fruit. In terms of scent, you can smell almost the same ingredients: blackberries, pepper, cherries, berries and a slightly spicy scent. Merlot: one of the oldest Vitis vinifera varieties that ripens earlier than Cabernet sauvignon and Cabernet franc. Merlot is important in Bordeaux, especially in Saint-Emilion and Pomerol. Plantings of Merlot have increased significantly in recent years. The grape is very popular worldwide and people have increasingly come to realize that Merlot should be planted in a fairly cool vineyard. This grape produces dark, cool, soft, spicy and fruity wines.
