Firriato Soria Perricone from Sicily, Italy. An intensely inky red wine from Sicily. Only the best grapes were manually harvested to then be vinified as a balanced, powerful and complex wine. This 100% Nero d’Avola has concentrated aromas of plum and black currant, as well as terroir, cocoa, clove and vanilla. Powerful onset with broad mouth filling and complex long finish. 10 months of barrel aging on French barriques support and complete the wine. A real gourmet product !!!

Nero d’Avola is a Sicilian grape and is named after the town of Avola in southern Sicily. The grape is one of the most important native Italian varieties. The vine likes warm dry climates and is also planted in Australia, especially in the warm Riverland in South Australia. Nero d’Avola (or Calabrese) produces wines that are beautifully dark, soft and robust and that age well, especially when treated briefly in oak.
