Salcuta Winemakers way Feteasca Neagra Feteasca uit Moldavie. The wine region of Stefan Voda. Historically, the roots of winemaking in the village of Salcuta go back to the second half of the 19th century. Here the local grape varieties (Feteasca Alba, Rara Neagra, Plavai) were successfully combined with the best European varieties (Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, etc.). Feteasca is an Eastern European grape variety that comes in three sub-varieties. The white Feteasca -alba is at the base of the other two, the white -regala and the red -neagra. The grapes are grown in Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Ukraine and Moldova. The Feteasca regala is the most important of the three due to its higher quality for viticulture. Although the grape is important for wine growing in the countries mentioned, in Western Europe it is not attributed very high quality due to the somewhat flat character of the wines. Due to the high sugar production in the grape, good sweet wines can be produced, but only the best wines give nice hints of stone fruit (peach). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gpYhEpudyiAfeature=youtu.be
