Törley Talisman Bulls Blood, Bull’s blood from Eger, Hungary. Torley is an innovative winery at the forefront of Hungarian winemaking. The grapes for this wine were hand-harvested in late October from vineyards near the city of Eger. Then fermented on the peel for 12 days in stainless steel tanks to enhance the freshness of the fruit flavours. Then 6 months in Hungarian oak barrels to enhance the powerful dark fruit and spicy notes. Bull’s eye is one of the most famous wines of Hungary and, according to legend, dates back to 1552. Aromas of dark fruit and ripe plums balanced with notes of black pepper and hints of autumn leaves.

Grapes: Kekfrankos, Zweigelt, Blauer Portugiser, Blauburger, Merlot, Turan Kékfrankos: the Hungarian name for Austrian Blaufränkisch. Blauer Portugieser is a blue grape variety mainly grown in Central European wine regions, particularly Germany, Austria and Hungary. It is a grape variety known for its high yield, early ripening and accessible wines. Despite its name, Blauer Portugieser has no clear Portuguese origin. The exact origin of the grape is not fully known, but it is believed that it got its name because it was once associated with Portuguese wines or was mistaken for a grape variety from Portugal. The Blauburger grape, a cross between Blaufränkisch and Blauer Portugieser, is known for its deep color and fruity aromas. This red grape offers wines with a good balance between juicy fruit and pleasant spiciness, ideal for lovers of lively and tasty red wines. Merlot is one of the oldest Vitis vinifera varieties that ripens earlier than Carbernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Merlot is important in Bordeaux, especially in Saint-Emilion and Pomerol. Merlot plantings have increased significantly in recent years. The grape is very popular worldwide and people are increasingly realizing that Merlot must be planted in a fairly cool vineyard. This grape produces dark, cool, soft, spicy and fruity wines. The Turán is a relatively unknown Hungarian blue grape that produces deep red wines. They have nice acidity, a floral scent and ripe black and red fruit on the palate. Turán is usually blended with other grapes, occasionally a bottle of just Turán appears.
