Vigneti Romio Sangiovese Sup. Reserva Romagna DOC from Emiglia Romagna, Italy. Bright ruby red color. The nose has wonderful notes of ripe black cherries with a hint of spices. The taste is also fruity with red berries and a light spice. The fine tannins provide a balanced, long aftertaste. Delicious with red meat such as steak, but also with sharp cheeses.

Sangiovese, the most common ancient and very robust, but thinly membranous variety. Originally from Tuscany and from there spread throughout Italy. Sangiovese consisting of two qualitatively very different sub-varieties. The Sangiovese piccolo (the lesser) dominates and is the main variety in Chianti.
