Château Pas Du Cerf Rose Le Club from Cotes de Provence, France. Bright light salmon pink in color. Fresh and dry Rose wine. Beautiful scents of tangerine, mango and flowers. Smooth and fresh on the palate. Fine soft finish. Grenache ( 45 % ), Cinsault (20 %), Syrah (20 %), Carignan (15 %). The Grenache grape grows in warm and dry areas, think of the South of France, Spain, South America and also California and Australia. This grape is also the most cultivated type of grape in the world for producing red . As already mentioned, the grape is called ‘Garnacha’ in Spanish. But you may also know it as ‘Cannonau’, which is what it is called in Sardinia. This grape is a real holidaymaker, and needs sun and hot rocks to fully bake and ripen. The grenache contains little tannin and is sensitive to oxidation, so it is better to drink it immediately instead of storing it. Syrah, a strong blue grape of very high quality. This grape is usually not easy for wine growers, but it is the seasoning for many Côtes du Rhône Villages. Delivers incredibly powerful and complex wines under optimal conditions. Have a high tannin content, without being stiff. The Syrah grape quickly suffers from poor fruit set in cool weather during flowering (coulure) but is not very susceptible to grape diseases such as Oidium. Cinsault is an old Mediterranean variety that is also written as cinsault. Cinsaut has been grown for centuries in Languedoc, Roussillon, Provence and the southern Rhône. This grape’s reputation for producing large yields of poor to average quality is partly true. It can give high yields, but at low yields it can produce quality wines. Cinsaut is sensitive and likes dry, poor and rocky sandy and clay soils and is known to be drought and heat resistant. Wines from Cinsaut are often blended with varieties such as Grenache, Mourvèdre, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. This grape produces light, soft, fruity wines with a somewhat weak color. The slightly sour wine should not be stored for too long. The wines are very aromatic, especially when young, and smell of peach, raspberry and strawberry. Cinsaut is very suitable for making light rosé wines. Carignan, a blue grape that is widely planted in southern France, North Africa and California. The grape produces fairly powerful wines that are fruity in their younger years. Nowhere does this grape produce better wine than in Roussillon. Carignan comes from Spain and is called cariñena after the city of the same name where the grape originally comes from. Carignan wines are generally dark colored and coarse in character. They contain relatively much tannin and a high acidity. Thanks to modern methods of vinification such as macération carbonique the wines become fuller, softer and fruitier.
