Domaine Durand Perron Macvin Blanc, Savagnin from Boilly-Fremiot from Jura, France. Beautiful amber-coloured wine. The nose is typical with notes of imposed plums and a hint of dried orange peel. Tight taste with a nice balance between acids, alcohol and wood. Fits with nuts, Comte cheeses.

Savagnin, a white aromatic grape variety from the Jura of high quality, among other things for the production of the sherry-like wine Vin jaune, a specialty of Arbois. White wines from both the Chardonnay and Savagnin are also produced in that region. The character of the wines from the Savagnin is aromatic and rich in extract, with impressions of nuts and wax clearly present. A close relative of the Savagnin is called the Clevner de Heiligenstein in Alsace.
