Henschke Louis Semillon -Eden Valley

Henschke Louis Semillon -Eden Valley, Australië. Straw yellow colour with light green reflections. Aromas of aniseed, citrus, green apple, fennel and freshly cut grass. Tight palette with zest of citrus fruit and fresh white stone fruit. Beautifully balanced finish with fine acidity.

Sémillon: for dry but also sweet Bordeaux wines. The ripe grape is rich in sugar and very susceptible to noble rot (pourriture noble). The world’s finest (sweet) wine the Sauternes is made from this grape. The character of a young sémillon wine depends on the region. In cool areas: fresh fragrant (sauvignon blanc esteem) with a fairly full taste. In warm areas: subdued scent of pebble, full and sometimes cumbersome in taste with a low acidity. Characteristic is the mild bitterness in the taste and aftertaste.
