Padró & Co. Vermouth Dorado Amargo Suave uit Catalunya, Spanje. Artemisia is the main herb originally used to make Vermouth. In this Vermouth, a special combination of several more species was applied, such as Gentian and Amarogentin. These are quite bitter herbs. The result is a bold and seductive Vermouth. The base wine is made from the Macabeo grape with a good structure that allows the wine to age a bit. The fragrance gives a mix of aromas, such as forest spices, balsamic with a subtle mineral hint. The taste is refreshing with a perfectly balanced bittersweet sensation.
Vermouth is a fortified and aromatized wine with an alcohol content between 14.5 and 21% alcohol. Usually made from white grapes. The most famous brand is Martini, but please leave that one alone. There are a few guidelines that the vermouth maker must adhere to. At least three-quarters of the vermouth should consist of wine. Furthermore, wormwood is always added. You know, that stuff you call absinthe. There are hundreds of species of wormwood. Which vermouth maker uses or how much is up to him. Furthermore, each vermouth has its own secret mix of botanicals. Commonly used herbs and plants are ginger, chamomile, vanilla, lavender, coriander seeds and cardamom.
