Sogno Del Sud Grillo (BIO) from Sicily, Italy. In the glass a beautiful straw yellow color. On the nose, intense and pleasant exotic fruit with hints of spice. On the palate fresh and wonderfully soft, nicely balanced with a lingering finish.

Grillo, one of the better grapes for Marsala, a fortified Sicilian wine, has a high alcohol content. Because of its exceptionally high sugar content, the grillo is the ideal grape for a wine like Marsala. The natural alcohol content easily reaches 13 to 14% and is much higher in favorable conditions. With its low acidity, the grillo tends to makerisation, which is less problematic for Marsala. The grillo is less suitable for normal, i.e. unfortified wines, although in some places in western Sicily it produces surprisingly good wines.

Viognier, an extremely vulnerable white grape of very high quality that forms the basis of Château Grillet and Condrieu. This grape is also allowed up to 20% in the red Côte Rôtie. Viognier produces a delicate, softly scented white wine. More and more quality-conscious wine growers are planting Viognier and as a result their white wines usually increase enormously in quality.
